“…Analysis of the set of the PANI derivatives presented in this work allows one to make the assumption that incorporation of an alkyl substituent complicates the oxidation of the amino group to an imino group. 33 This assumption is conrmed by the increase in the photoluminescence intensity with an increase in the substituent volume, that is, in accordance with the steric hindrance that it exerts.…”

“…Comparative analysis of literature data on other alkyl-substituted PANI derivatives conrms the above regularities. 16,30,33 Previously, unsubstituted PANI was found to have luminescent properties with a quantum yield of 0.1 only NMP solution, 34 whereas the luminescence quantum yields of substituted PANI derivatives are much higher. 35 In addition, the luminescent properties of the resulting material can be controlled by changing the synthesis conditions and by varying the doping agent.…”

“…The development of the chemistry of electrically conductive conjugated polymers over the past decade had a significant impact on expanding the scope of their practical application. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] The most promising and rapidly developing fields of practical application include electronic devices, anticorrosion coatings, and so forth. The competitive advantages of PANI, such as the facility of synthesis, availability, chemical and thermal stability, relatively high electrical conductivity, and redox activity, make it a popular and promising material for application in numerous areas.…”

“…However, its application is severely limited by its poor solubility, workability, and adhesion between the material and metal materials and pinhole defects [ 46 , 47 ]. The introduction of alkyl, alkoxy, amine, and imine groups on the benzene ring can significantly enhance the physical characteristics and anti-corrosion behavior of PANI, possibly due to both steric restrictions and phi-electron effects [ 48 ]. In addition, the increased molecular size of the substituted PANI can facilitate better surface coverage and lead to better adhesion of the metal substrate.…”
