Effect of rolling ratio on groove-section profile ring rolling

Abstract: Ring rolling is an advanced plastic forming technique which is used to manufacture precise seamless rings. Rolling ratio is regarded as a decisive parameter for the ring rolling process because it decides the blank dimension, reflects the ring deformation degree and influences the forming results. However, its importance for the ring rolling process is always neglected. In this paper, the effect of rolling ratio on the groove-section profile ring rolling is firstly investigated. The relationships between rolli… Show more

“…These investigations have effectively promoted a deeper recognition to the deformation mechanism of RRR. Based on the investigations of simple rectangle section rings, the deformation conditions, behaviours and laws of some typical profile rings in RRR have been studied basically such as raceway groove section rings (Hua et al, 2008a;Zhao and Qian, 2010), conical section rings (Han et al, 2007), L-section rings (Hua et al, 2009b), T-section rings , etc. Besides, the deformation laws of some special material such as titanium alloy have been explored (Wang et al, 2009;Yang et al, 2008).…”

“…They also introduced the forming principles of CRR. Zhao and Qian 15 investigated the effect of the rolling ratio on the profiled ring's deformation inhomogeneity. They studied the relevance of input parameters, including blank dimensions with rolling ratio, and presented a parametric relationship for selecting an accepted rolling ratio range.…”
