Effect of phosphatidylcholine–cholesterol liposomes on Entamoeba histolytica virulence

Abstract: Trophozoites of Entamoeba histolytica HM-1:IMSS become less virulent after long-term maintenance in axenic cultures. The factors responsible for the loss of virulence during in vitro cultivation remain unclear.
