“…In a more recent work [56], the cross-plane thermal conductivity of 500-nmthick Si membranes with patterned periodic pores of 300 nm pore diameter and 500 nm period was measured with the use of a transient thermal reflectance method. The room-temperature value is 5.84 ± 1.3 W m -1 K -1 , about one order of magnitude lower than the result from a MC calculation [57] that assumes diffuse phonon-surface scattering. The measurement result was attributed to modification of the phonon dispersion and group velocity by the periodic phononic crystal structure.…”
