Abstract: Corticosteroids significantly improved the survival rate and intellectual outcome of children with TBM. Enhanced resolution of the basal exudate and tuberculomas by steroids was shown by serial CT scanning. Corticosteroids did not affect ICP or the incidence of basal ganglia infarction significantly.
