“…Seventy-eight genes seemed to be differentially expressed in both variants: 15% were located in regions that had sustained losses (11). Among the 78 genes, only two, CLK1 and RAI, were previously associated with a response to cisplatin treatment (29,30). However, none were associated with resistance to temozolomide.…”

“…High levels of gene expression of SRPK1 have been detected in testicular cancer, one of the most CDDP-sensitive tumors. In fact, SRPK1 is considered as a marker of response to CDDP (62), in the sense that CDDP induces high levels of this protein that are required to phosphorylate different substrates (SR-proteins), altering their subnuclear localization and ultimately causing an inhibition of RNA splicing (53,63). Data in our study suggest, for the first time, that SRPK1 is not only involved in CDDP sensitivity but also in OXA sensitivity.…”

“…Finally, several studies have described that serine-rich (SR) proteins and the kinases that phosphorylate them (SRPKs) may also play a role in CDDP-resistance (52,53). SR proteins have an important role in both constitutive and alternative mRNA splicing in mammalian cells (54).…”

“…CROP is a novel putative SR protein sharing the common function with LUC7L. CROP/hLuc7A has been studied as a key molecule of cisplatin resistance of anticancer therapy targeting a variety of malignant tumors because it is overexpressed in cisplatin-resistant cell lines (Umehara et al, 2003). In this context, LUC7L is considered as a possible target for drug resistance in tumor in a manner similar to its mammalian counterparts.…”
