Effect of associated vaccines on the interference between Newcastle disease virus and infectious bronchitis virus in broilers

Abstract: The phenomenon of viral interference between live vaccines against Newcastle Disease and infectious bronchitis has been reported since the 50's and many researchers have reported its prejudicial effects on avian immunization. Therefore, this study evaluated the effect of associated vaccines on the interference between Newcastle disease virus (NDV) and infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) in broilers. There were 400 broiler chicks divided into five groups. The groups were submitted to mono or polyvalent vaccinatio… Show more

“…In literature, it has already been shown that a one-time vaccination with the IB/ND vaccine used in this study can induce a moderate antibody titer which can be verified 40 days post vaccination [32]. It is very likely that the same effect appears if the monovalent ND vaccine is used [33]. The statistical data evaluation showed that the titer of the ND vaccination increased significantly with a doubling of vaccinations.…”

“…Negative effects on antibody production after a vaccination with mixed monovalent-vaccines against NDV and IBV are well known [42], since the IB-Virus vaccination seems to decrease the capacity of the gland of Harder [43]. This effect does not seem to occur when the combination of both viruses had been carried out by the manufacturer as in case of the IB/ND vaccine used in this study [33]. Interestingly, a study on vaccination against NDV with different vaccines showed that the combined IB/ND vaccine used in this study induces higher antibody production than other combined IB/ND vaccines or an ND vaccine alone after single vaccination.…”

Pengambilan sampel darah dilakukan satu kali.…”
