Show more

“…The serum TP and IgG variables presented similar behavior (P < 0.0001), considering the entire experimental period, with r=0.788; this was also observed by other authors (Daniele et al, 1994a;Baracat et al, 1995). For groups 2 and 3 there was a decrease in serum TP concentration in the 1 st month after birth (Table 2, Figure 2), and this was a consequence of the catabolism of antibodies passively acquired from colostrum over the group of serum proteins, indicating a protein catabolic process, a fact already observed by several authors (Machado Neto & Packer, 1986;Daniele et al, 1994b;Baracat et al, 1995;Bessi, 1996).…”

“…The increase in serum concentration of albumin relative to age was previously described (FAGLIARI et al, 1998;FEITOSA et al, 2001;LEAL et al, 2003), while age seemed to have no influence on the serum albumin concentration in another study (DANIELE et al, 1994). The albumin/globulin ratio (A/G ratio) was 1.26 g/dl at 24 hrs and 1.58 g/dl 30 days later; similar results were described .…”

“…O consumo médio no período, no grupo 2, foi de 7,708±1,072 kg, o qual foi significativamente superior ao consumo do grupo 3 (P<0,0036) e ao do grupo 1 (P<0,0001), com médias de 6,357±1,012 kg e 5,561±0,542 kg, respectivamente. Daniele et al (1994a) …”
