“…Relatively few dynamic brain PET/MRI studies have investigated the effects of MRAC methods on accuracy and precision using kinetic analysis for quantification of outcome parameters [ 36 , 39 , 43 , 45 , 46 ]. Schramm et al [ 36 ] evaluated ZTE-MRAC and Atlas-MRAC compared to CT-based AC in eight healthy volunteers using a SIGNA PET/MRI scanner and [ 18 F]PE2I.…”

“…Like CT-AC, most of the reported MRAC methods disregarded possible heterogeneity in tissue by using AC maps with fixed values assigned to a limited number of tissue types. More detailed attenuation maps may be developed by optimizing the simultaneous acquired information from MRI and PET combined with templates/atlas and machine learning [ 39 , 40 , 42 , 45 , 63 ].…”

“…This enzyme, which removes α-(1–6) linkages, detaches from glycogen units of glucose and is important for continued glycogen breakdown during insect flight [ 45 ]. Alpha-glucosidase catalyzes the hydrolysis of α-glucosidic bonds, releasing free glucose; this enzyme is present as a soluble form in the midgut lumen or bound to cell membranes and is important for the digestion of sucrose [ 46 , 47 ]. Trehalase is the enzyme that hydrolyses trehalose, a circulating disaccharide containing two D-glucose units in an α,α-(1-1) linkage, which plays a crucial role as a metabolic source of energy [ 48 ].…”

“…The authors, at first, demonstrated that there were no differences in running economy between a control and stiff shoe; however, once they split up their runners into responders and non-responders, the responders showed an average improvement in running economy of 2.9% when running in the stiff shoe condition. A 2.9% improvement in running economy would correspond to a performance improvement of 1.93% 40 or 2.26% 41 , which on a 2-h. marathon would correspond to a decrease in running time of ~ 139 or ~ 163 s. Stefanyshyn and Fusco 10 showed group improvements in sprinting performance (i.e., in absolute time) of ~ 0.47% when the stiffness of sprinting spikes was increased by inserting straight carbon fibre plates with a stiffness of 47 N·mm −1 in athletes’ own footwear. More importantly, however, the athletes had their individual best performance in different stiffness conditions.…”
