Abstract: AbstractThe complete genome sequence of Dictyostelium, a widely studied social amoeba, reveals unexpected complexities in genome structure, and cell motility and signaling, most notably the presence of a large number of G-protein-coupled receptors not previously found outside animals and the absence of receptor tyrosine kinases.
