Easy care of silk fabrics realized by crosslinking thermo‐responsive copolymer film on its surface

Abstract: An easy care of silk fabrics is realized by crosslinking a thermo‐responsive copolymer film onto its surface. The thermo‐responsive copolymer poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide‐co‐oligo[ethylene glycol] methyl ether methacrylate‐co‐ethylene glycol methacrylate), abbreviated as P(NM‐co‐OA300‐co‐EA360), is synthesized by sequential atom transfer radical polymerization. By applying 1,2,3,4‐butanetetracarboxylic acid as crosslinker, the thermo‐responsive P(NM‐co‐OA300‐co‐EA360) film can be immobilized onto the silk fabric… Show more

“…However, the relative current change consistently maintains the range 210–227%, showing no significant degradation. In addition, the comfort of sensors is crucial for daily wear. , To further investigate the effect of impregnation on the comfort of cotton fabrics, the air/moisture permeability, mechanical strength, and softness of cotton fabrics before and after impregnation were determined; detailed information can be found in the Supporting Information. In summary, our proposed fabric-based pressure sensor is durable and flexible, pressure-sensitive, and fast-responding, which is of great significance for practical application.…”
