This article presents a study about the preference of use in virtual social networks, using Facebook as object of study, to identify the motivational factors for the usability of this technology platform. The social network Facebook has been chosen to present a technological scenario of high sociability and virtual interaction. The methodology used was the netnography, being made through the collection of discussions in North American sites of news and forums online, where there is a large critical user participation on the internet, about the gains and frustrations in this context. The content analysis was performed comparing the categories of users found in the literature about values that motivate consumer technology, describing the hedonic, social, utilitarian values and perceptions of risk in consumption when related to lack of privacy. The results show two main groups of users of this technology and 7 subgroups. Therefore, the contribution of the study is that the formation of these groups may reflect technological usability of user groups around the world. The study also brings to the discussion issues related to the behaviors of the users of virtual networks which can be useful for businesses and their relationships with consumers and also the development of new knowledge from such criticism and demands that digital consumers expose about the technologies.

This paper studies the conceptual evolution of technological regimes and relates it to the interactive process between technological advancements and social change. Schools of thought on technological regime are identified based on research community, belief, perceived problem, and intent solution which Kuhn used to specify scientific paradigms. Over a time sequence, these schools collectively depict the course of technological regime evolution. By summarizing the scope and underlying dimensions, technological regime plays a role of a selection mechanism for technological changes. Through an extensive literature review and bibliometric analysis, the critical dimensions of technological regime evolution are reported in terms of interaction with technological innovations and social change. The research result provides systematic information for technological and scientific policy-makers to support decisions regarding technology selection and resource allocation.

If unforeseen, this could have a devastating effect on the return on investments in technology N. Indeed, one can see in Figure 12 "that by using the data up to the discontinuity point, a classical Bass model can be satisfactorily fitted to the life cycle of technology N. Many models of markets are based on assumptions of rationality, transparency, efficiency, and homogeneity in various combinations. They assume, at least implicitly, that decision makers understand the structure of the market and how it produces the dynamics which can be observed or might potentially occur. Are these models acceptable simplifications, or can they be seriously misleading? The research described in this article explains why markets routinely and repeatedly make "mistakes" that are inconsistent with the simplifying assumptions. System Dynamics models are used to show how misestimating demand growth, allowing financial discipline to lapse, unrealistic business planning, and misperception of technology trajectories can produce disastrously wrong business decisions. The undesirable outcomes could include vicious cycles of investment and profitability, market bubbles, accelerated commoditization, excessive investment in dead-end technologies, giving up on a product that becomes a huge success, waiting too long to reinvent legacy companies, and changes in market leadership. The article illuminates the effects of bounded rationality, imperfect information, and fragmentation of decision making. Decision makers rely on simple mental models which have serious limitations. They become increasingly deficient as problems grow more complex, as the environment changes more rapidly, and as the number of decision makers increases. The amplification and tipping dynamics typical of highly coupled systems, for example, bandwagon, network, and lemming effects, are not anticipated. Examples are drawn from airlines, telecommunications, IT, aerospace, energy, and media. The key conclusions in this article are about the critical roles of behavioral factors in the evolution of markets.
