Abstract:Dynamic light‐scattering measurements have been made on the “soft” polymer: poly(n‐laurylmethacrylate) (PLMA) in solution in ethyl acetate over the concentration range 0.1 < C < 0.9 g/mL as well as melt PLMA. With the concentrated solutions, the hydrodynamic screening length (ξh) scales with an exponent of −0.7 below C ≈ 0.3 g/mL. Importantly, ξh decreases above 0.3 g/mL, and the concentration dependence increases strongly above this concentration. The latter contrasts with the behavior in a variety of well‐st… Show more
“…The T g values of the copolymers are shown in Figure 2. The different T g s were found to be between 110°C for PMMA and −45°C for the pure PLMA, both similar to literature's values25, 26 (110°C for PMMA and −48.1°C for the pure PLMA). The T g of a polymer, representing the molecular mobility of the polymer chains, is an important phenomenon that influences its material properties and potential applications.…”
Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD).
Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD.
The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC).
Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…In fact, the scattering vector q was obtained from 4π n /λ 0 sin(θ/2) with a precision of 0.0001 nm -1 and the relaxation rate Γ was obtained from the average of the data evaluation procedure for 3 times. In addition, the magnitude of correlation lengths for [AMIM][Cl] and [BMIM][Cl] is 100 nm, which is similar to that observed in other glass-forming liquids 19 and polymer melts. − 2 Normalized time-dependent intensity correlation functions for [AMIM][Cl] measured at θ = 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, and 150° at 338 K. 3 Plots of relaxation rate Γ against q 2 for [AMIM][Cl] at 338 K and [BMIM][Cl] at 377 K. Note that only the relaxation rates measured at low temperatures of 303 and 318 K have relatively large errors of less than 5%.…”

“…However, it is clear that polydispersity itself cannot lead to a phase separation (at least to my knowledge, a polydispersity-induced phase segregation in homopolymers was never observed or predicted). Besides, similar “cluster phenomena” were observed in polymer systems with various degrees of polydispersity ( M w / M n − 1 =0.09−0.9 − ).…”
