The high-volume rise of digital technology is restructuring every side of the business and profoundly impacting how the business works. The concept of management and leadership are vividly changing. However, no business can avert the implications, challenges, and opportunities that originated from the digital revolution. It pushes companies to transform their setup. Against this background, many businesses are not ready to transform. The family business is not an exception. It is expected to adopt digitalization as a keenly prevalent business practice worldwide. Furthermore, its involvement in the digital economy is still essential. However, studies on digital adoption in the family business remain limited. At the same time, family businesses have unique characteristics that make them different from other forms of business in general. It is perceived that the two issues are opposing. The family business is commonly viewed with slow evolutions. On the other hand, digitalization is characterized as a rapid action. This research is a theoretical review that aims to fill the gap by exploring the state-of-the-art digital adoption literature. In addition, it develops areas for future research primarily related to family business topics. This article carried out a systematic literature review. It employed a Prisma approach on a Scopus database with all the articles written in English. The results showed that most digital adoption literature mainly focuses on two contexts: (1) general business and (2) academic institutions. Moreover, it provides geographical trends in this domain, the most cited authors, and the top journal on this topic. This study further found that very few discuss digital adoption even in the literature on the family business. Thus, many family business areas can be explored. To this end, this study provides propositions associating digital adoption with the family business areas. At the same time, it further provides several future research agendas.

This research aims to examine specific issues that how healthcare institutions successfully manage IT projects after the deadly disease of COVID-19. The world’s healthcare institute changed its traditional way of treatment to IT-based equipment after COVID-19. Hence, this study investigated the how digital orientation helps healthcare institutes for successful management of IT. Our study identifies the critical role of digital orientation and innovation adaption in the successful management of IT. The mediating role of innovation adaption in the association between digital orientation and successful management of IT was also investigated. In total, 456 questionnaires were used for the collection of data from eight different healthcare centers. We selected participants through random sampling. Findings on the healthcare institution showed that successful management of IT is predicted through digital orientation. This study’s results proved that digital orientation impacts innovation adaption, and similarly, innovation adaption influences the successful management of IT. The outcomes show the mediating role of innovation adaption in the linkage between digital orientation and successful management of IT. Current research contributes to the existing literature through combined impacts of the digital orientation, innovation adaption, and successful management of IT through means of demonstrating how, when, and why digital orientation supports the successful management of IT. Moreover, innovation adaption performs a significant role in the extant digitalize world; thus, we chose innovation adaption as a mediator in this study.

PurposeIn today's constantly changing workplace, leaders encounter new challenges consequent to rising digitization. Tackling these problems effectively requires digital leadership, a prominent idea in discussions about what abilities the managers need to be developed in the digital age. The study analyses the leadership elements needed and determines the impact of digital leadership on sustainable performance. The aim of this systematic literature review (SLR) is to identify the relationship between digital leadership concepts and leadership development by proposing digital leadership for management development to ensure sustainable performance in an organisation.Design/methodology/approachROSES (RepOrting Standards for Systematics Evidence Syntheses) was used as the publication standard for this systematic literature review, which incorporated a variety of research approaches. For this study's article selection, one of the most important scientific databases, Scopus, was used. Only articles published between 2001 and 2021 were reviewed. The focus of the article was on digital leadership and performance.FindingsThis review identified five main themes: leadership styles, measurements of leadership, antecedents to good leadership, outcomes of good leadership and gaps in current research areas. An additional ten sub-themes were derived from the five primary topics.Originality/valueThis paper systematically reviewed two decades of literature related to digital leadership and its impact on sustainable performance. The findings allow leaders to better understand the leadership trend and develop appropriate leadership practices to overcome future challenges for sustainable performance.
