<span lang="SK">In the paper the free transverse vibration of representative toothed gear is considered. Analysed system is treated as an annular plate with complex geometry. The discussion is focused on using the cyclic symmetry modelling technique to vibration analysis of the system under the study. The method of creation of the toothed gear simplified FE model is proposed. The problems related to the determination of critical rotational speeds of the considered system are discussed. Campbell diagram for the studied system is elaborated and the method of designation of the safe working zone of the wheel is presented. Experimental investigations conducted in order to evaluate the proposed method of elaboration of FE models are presented. It is important to note that the issues presented in this work have a practical value for design engineers dealing with the dynamics of rotating systems.</span>

Spring Failure Analysis of Mining Vibrating Screens: Numerical and Experimental Studies

Spring failure is one of the critical causes of the structural damage and low screening efficiency of mining vibrating screens. Therefore, spring failure diagnosis is necessary to prompt maintenance for the safety and reliability of mining vibrating screens. In this paper, a spring failure diagnosis approach is developed. A finite element model of mining vibrating screens is established. Simulations are carried out and the spring failure influence rules of spring failure on the dynamic characteristics of mining vibrating screens are obtained. These influence rules indicate that the amplitude variation coefficients (AVCs) of the four spring seats in the x, y, and z directions can reveal two kinds of single spring failure and four kinds of double spring failure, which are useful for diagnosing spring failure. Furthermore, experiments are conducted. Comparison analyses of the experimental results and simulation results indicate that the proposed approach is capable of revealing various kinds of spring failure. Therefore, this approach provides useful information for diagnosing spring failure and guiding technical staff to routinely maintain mining vibrating screens.

A review of recent research in the field of vibration separation of bulk media has been done. It was found that the productivity of the separation process is influenced not only by the design characteristics of the vibrating separator, in particular the length, angle and capacity of the working housing, but also the dynamic processes that occur in bulk medium during separation. The efficiency of the separation process significantly depends on the mutual influence of the velocity of the bulk medium along the separator sieve and its amplitude-frequency characteristics. Based on the review, the relevance of further study of these parameters was established. Using the methods of nonlinear mechanics, a mathematical model of the motion of the layer of bulk medium on the sieve of the vibrating separator was built. The layer of bulk medium was modeled by an elastic beam, which is in contact elastically, rigidly, or as hinged. Graphical dependences of the influence of the frequency of external perturbation and the velocity of the bulk medium along the sieve of the separator on its oscillation amplitude were obtained. The obtained mathematical model and graphical dependences showed that small velocities of the medium layer lead to an increase in the amplitude of oscillations of the bulk medium and a decrease in its frequency of oscillations, which increases the permeability of medium particles and increases the productivity of the separation process. The obtained researches allow us to increase the efficiency of the separation process, to regulate the processes that take place in the bulk medium and to increase the speed of its passage through the sieve openings. The constructed mathematical model can serve as a basis for further studies of the influence of changes in the physical and mechanical characteristics of the bulk medium on its dynamic parameters in the process of vibration separation.
