“…Strains with these mutated sequences are not able to produce intact DupA protein. Intriguingly, the presence of dupA without a stop codon was more frequently observed in strains from patients with DU than those from patients with gastritis or GC (25). According to these results, the G27 strain, which possesses a tfs3a, might not produce DupA protein due to the presence of a stop codon in dupA (33).…”

“…The reason for this variation in dupA prevalence in India may be due to the fact that their study did not include sequencing of the intergenic region of jhp0917-jhp0918 to check for the insertion of a nucleotide after position 1385 or the RNA expression profile of the dupA gene, or might be related to the geographical genomic variation of H. pylori, as India is a large country with much diversity. Some studies have reported a dupA gene with a single-nucleotide polymorphism that created a premature stop codon and may have considerable effects on protein expression or function (Gomes et al, 2008;Hussein, 2010;Moura et al, 2012;Queiroz et al, 2011). Moreover, Douraghi et al (2008) reported that dupA was inversely associated with the histological feature of dysplasia, an important pre-malignant and pre-cancerous lesion associated with increased incidence of cancer in the Iranian population.…”

“…Unfortunately, most of studies in past did not consider this two types of dupA and thus the final results by them might be cautiously useful. Another interesting topics about dupA is existence of several mutations in gene length[38,56]. At different positions, these mutations can create a premature stop codon with considerable effects on its produced proteins function[56].…”
