Aggressive driving emotions is indeed one of the major causes for traffic accidents throughout the world. Real-time classification in time series data of abnormal and normal driving is a keystone to avoiding road accidents. Existing work on driving behaviors in time series data have some limitations and discomforts for the users that need to be addressed. We proposed a multimodal based method to remotely detect driver aggressiveness in order to deal these issues. The proposed method is based on change in gaze and facial emotions of drivers while driving using near-infrared (NIR) camera sensors and an illuminator installed in vehicle. Driver's aggressive and normal time series data are collected while playing car racing and truck driving computer games, respectively, while using driving game simulator. Dlib program is used to obtain driver's image data to extract face, left and right eye images for finding change in gaze based on convolutional neural network (CNN). Similarly, facial emotions that are based on CNN are also obtained through lips, left and right eye images extracted from Dlib program. Finally, the score level fusion is applied to scores that were obtained from change in gaze and facial emotions to classify aggressive and normal driving. The proposed method accuracy is measured through experiments while using a self-constructed large-scale testing database that shows the classification accuracy of the driver's change in gaze and facial emotions for aggressive and normal driving is high, and the performance is superior to that of previous methods.Association Foundation for Traffic safety, published in 2009, that the aggressive behavior of driver causes 56% of traffic accidents [2]. Besides precious human lives, people, company, and government also lose billions of dollars due to road accidents. For this reason, aggressive driving behavior must be strongly discouraged that will result in reduction of the number of traffic accidents.The classification of aggressive and normal behavior is an important issue that can be used to increase awareness of driving habits of drivers as many drivers are over confident and are unaware of their bad driving habits [3]. If we can automatically identify the drivers driving behaviors, the drivers can be aware of their bad habits and assist them to avoid potential car accidents. Other than this if, monitoring results could be sent back to a security observing server of the local police station that could help to automatically detect aggressive drivers. The conventional method to keep a check on aggressive driving is by police patrolling, but, due to lack of police force, all roads cannot be simultaneously monitored and it also costs a lot [4]. The need of intelligent surveillance system is increasing with the increase in population. The advance driver assistance system (ADAS) that can monitor driver's attention and driving behavior can improve road safety, which will also enhance the effectiveness of the ADAS [5]. Lidský faktor je zásadní proměnnou ovlivňující bezpečnost silničního provozu. Důležitou součástí toho, jak se lidský faktor v silničním provozu projevuje, je styl, jakým řidič řídí své vozidlo. V tomto článku shrnujeme výzkum týkající se řidičských stylů mladých řidi-čů. Zabýváme se metodami, kterými se řidičské styly zkoumají, jako jsou např. metody Naturalistic Driving studies. Dále popisujeme typologii řidičských stylů podle Taubman--Ben-Ari a rozebíráme souvislosti několika stylů -agresivního, bezpečného a úzkostného. V poslední části se zabýváme specifiky stylů řízení u mladých řidičů a vlivu rodičů na jejich řidičské chování. Velmi mladí řidiči mají tendenci k rizikovému chování při řízení. Tito řidiči často přejímají styl řízení od svých rodičů. Vzhledem k rostoucímu množství dopravních nehod nabývá bezpečnost řízení na větší důležitosti a z toho důvodu je žádoucí tvorba cíleně směřovaných opatření ke snížení nehodovosti na silnicích (Lin et al., 2006). Podstatné je přitom chování řidičů. Zda řidič řídí bezpečně, závisí na jeho psychických a jiných behaviorálních charakteristikách, současně také na řidičově schopnosti plánovat. Chování během řízení sestává ze dvou prvků a to z řidičských dovedností a stylu řízení . Řidič si záměrně vybírá sérii takových kroků chování, které odpovídají aktuálním jízdním podmínkám. Styl řízení představuje způsob, jakým se rozhodne člověk řídit, nebo odkazuje k jeho obvyklému způsobu jízdy. K tomu se řadí takové prvky jako je rychlost, vzdálenost od ostatních vozidel během jízdy, obvyklá úroveň pozornosti, schopnost pracovat s vlastními emocemi a způsob projevování těchto emocí při řízení. Štikar, Hoskovec a Šmolíková (2011) se ve své studii zabývají typologií řidičů, kterou pro větší přehlednost rozdělují na dvě kategorie, klasickou a novější. Ke klasické typologii zařazují dělení podle autorů, jako jsou McGuire, Quenalt, Larson nebo Munsch. U novějších typologií posuzují, zda byla data subjektnivního nebo objektivního Kassaagi, Moessinger, & Lefort in Štikar et al., 2011). Driving style is a very important indicator and a crucial measurement of a driver's performance and ability to drive in a safe and protective manner. A dangerous driving style would possibly result in dangerous behaviors. If the driving styles can be recognized by some appropriate classification methods, much attention could be paid to the drivers with dangerous driving styles. The driving style recognition module can be integrated into the advanced driving assistance system (ADAS), which integrates different modules to improve driving automation, safety and comfort, and then the driving safety could be enhanced by pre-warning the drivers or adjusting the vehicle's controlling parameters when the dangerous driving style is detected. In most previous studies, driver's questionnaire data and vehicle's objective driving data were utilized to recognize driving styles. And promising results were obtained. However, these methods were indirect or subjective in driving style evaluation. In this paper a method based on objective driving data and electroencephalography (EEG) data was presented to classify driving styles. A simulated driving system was constructed and the EEG data and the objective driving data were collected synchronously during the simulated driving. The driving style of each participant was classified by clustering the driving data via K-means. Then the EEG data was denoised and the amplitude and the Power Spectral Density (PSD) of four frequency bands were extracted as the EEG features by Fast Fourier transform and Welch. Finally, the EEG features, combined with the classification results of the driving data were used to train a Support Vector Machine (SVM) model and a leave-one-subject-out cross validation was utilized to evaluate the performance. The SVM classification accuracy was about 80.0%. Conservative drivers showed higher PSDs in the parietal and occipital areas in the alpha and beta bands, aggressive drivers showed higher PSD in the temporal area in the delta and theta bands. These results imply that different driving styles were related with different driving strategies and mental states and suggest the feasibility of driving style recognition from EEG patterns.
