Abstract: ABSTRACT. Diversity of Odonata (Insecta) in lotic systems from Serra da Bodoquena, Mato Grosso do Sul State, Brazil. A systematic survey was carried out in four lotic systems from Serra da Bodoquena, the largest natural forests of the State, from August 2007 to November 2008. 548 specimens belonging to 33 species, distributed in 5 families were sampled. “…(Kalkman et al, 2008;Juen et al, 2014). Moreover, studies have reported the dominance of Libellulidae immature in streams near pastures, with degraded riparian forests or in silted streams (Cortezzi et al, 2009;Dalzochio et al, 2011a). Our results confirm this pattern since most of the stretches sampled in both streams are shallow and the surroundings consist mainly of grass pastures and sparse fragments of riparian vegetation.…”

“…Our results confirm this pattern since most of the stretches sampled in both streams are shallow and the surroundings consist mainly of grass pastures and sparse fragments of riparian vegetation. Combined with the adaptability to human environments, another factor associated with the representativeness of this family is the large body size of adults compared to other families of this suborder, which therefore increases the dispersal ability (Kalkman et al, 2008;Dalzochio et al, 2011a).…”

“…Machado Dragonflies from Parque Nacional da Serra do Cipó, Brazil et al 1991;Ferreira-Peruquetti & Fonseca-Gessner 2003;Souza & Costa 2006). The few studies where gomphids are in high relative numbers correspond to material reared from larvae in the laboratory (Louton et al 1996;Dalzochio et al 2011). Active captures of Gomphidae is usually so low that often none is recorded from a single site (e.g.…”
