Abstract:New physics beyond General Relativity can modify image features of black holes and
horizonless spacetimes and increase the separation between photon rings. This motivates us to
explore synthetic images consisting of two thin rings. Our synthetic images are parameterized by
the separation as well as the relative flux density of the two rings. We perform fits to the
visibility amplitude and analyze closure quantities. The current Event Horizon Telescope array
cannot detect the presence of a second r… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
