Abstract: Impaired olfaction is an early symptom of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Neuroanatomical changes underlying this deficit in the olfactory system are largely unknown. Cell neurodegeneration is known to involve, among others, somatostatin (SST)- and calcium-binding protein-positive cells.
