In a small feeding trial among women with PCOS conducted by the same group (Douglas et al, 2006a), consuming a low carbohydrate diet (43 vs 56% of energy) led to changes that would be expected to result in improved reproductive and metabolic outcomes including significant reductions in fasting and post glucose challenge insulin levels and a reduction in free testosterone levels of borderline statistical significance (Douglas et al, 2006a).…”
