Abstract: There is growing evidence that dietary antioxidants may have favourable effects in reducing cancer risk. In a case-control study we investigated the association of dietary total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and risk of breast cancer. Guo-Chao Zhong et al [3] found that dietary TAC can be inversely associated with pancreatic cancer incidence while Karimi et al [4] wrote that the risk of breast cancer can be reduced by consuming food with high TAC values. These and other results on the topic stimulate further deepening of the clinical meaning of TAC in view of its routine use.…”
