Abstract: This study was aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation of Bacillus cereus as probiotics on growth, fillet quality, serum biochemical parameters and intestinal histology of Pengze crucian carp (Carassius auratus var. Pengze). Fish were fed basic diet (Control group) and three diets such as CD7, CD9 and CD11 supplemented with B. cereus at dose of 107, 109 and 1011 CFU/kg for 70 days. The results showed that supplementation of 109 CFU/kg B. cereus significantly improved the growth performance com… Show more

“…It is therefore essential that the consequences of the introduction of massive amounts of microorganisms or antimicrobials into the aquatic systems be evaluated from a system perspective, including from a food product quality and consumer health perspective. Yet, such studies that consider the impact on microbial communities from both aquaculture and food angles are still uncommon (Cao et al., 2019; Ceppa et al., 2018; Yang et al., 2019).…”

“…La suplementación dietética con las cepas probióticas BSth-5 y BSth-19 propiciaron una mayor resistencia a las enfermedades en A. dabryanus (Di et al, 2019). Yang et al (2019) evaluaron los efectos de la suplementación dietética de Bacillus cereus como probióticos en el crecimiento, calidad de filete, parámetros bioquímicos séricos e histología intestinal de la carpa de Pengze (Carassius auratus var. Pengze).…”

“…Conversely, no intestinal and hepatic changes were found in seabass, Dicentrarchux labrax (Fig ueiredo‐Silva et al., 2005) and sharpsnout seabream, Diplodus puntazzo (Nogales‐Mérida et al., 2017) fed diets with soybean oil. In addition, previous studies reported that probiotics might facilitate digestion (Najafabad et al., 2016), due to it can modified the structure of the intestine, such as villi elongation (Je et al., 2019), and intestinal fold height augment (Yang et al., 2019), and function of the gastrointestinal tract (Akter et al., 2016) optimizing the nutrients absorption surface and therefore the nutrients digestibility (John et al., 2008). Nevertheless, in almost all of these studies address the interaction between probiotics and dietary fish meal substitution by alternative protein, but the studies focus on the nexus between these additives with FO substitution in fish diets are scarce.…”
