Abstract: RESUMO: Poucas dimensões da vida humana são mais profundamente conectadas com a sobrevivência básica e, ao mesmo tempo, com elementos social e simbolicamente construídos, do que a alimentação. Este trabalho apresenta e analisa os dados sobre os processos de escolhas alimentares entre os habitantes da Ilha de Ituqui, Baixo Amazonas, Pará.
