Dia Mundial de Hipertensão: 1ª edição / World Hypertension Day: 1st edition

Abstract

A hipertensão arterial sistêmica é uma das doenças cardiovasculares mais prevalentes e gera grande impacto na saúde pública global. O evento do "Dia Mundial da Hipertensão: 1ª edição", teve como objetivo o estímulo à adoção de hábitos de vida saudáveis, através de informações que facilitam a compreensão básica da hipertensão arterial sistêmica, de seus riscos, de sua relação com os hábitos de vida, bem como dos claros benefícios da adoção de hábitos saudáveis. Após o primeiro dia do evento, avaliando os dados obtidos, observou-se que 71,4% das pessoas eram portadoras de sobrepeso ou obesas e 32,1% tinham algum grau de hipertensão. Tais achados são semelhantes aos reportados em estudos populacionais nacionais e de outros países, e reforçam a necessidade de intervenção em nossa população para reduzir complicações cardiovasculares. Esse foi o primeiro evento extensionista da Liga de prevenção de diabetes e doenças cardiovasculares, cujo molde servirá para eventos futuros.

“…society as the congress of the Cardiology Society of Paraná and by eminently extensionist actions such as the World Hypertension Day 1st edition(VIECHINESKI et al, 2021) further increased the motivation, influenced the formation of groups, the definition of goals and work plan of the extension project in question. With the sedimentation of this set of ideas, perspectives and goals this extension project was submitted in the Pró-reitora de Extensão e Assuntos Culturais (PROEX) of our institution, Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa (UEPG) and started in the 1st semester of 2019, under the coordination of professor Mário Cláudio Soares Sturzeneker initially as an academic league of diabetes and cardiovascular disease prevention and later by institutional issues again submitted as an extension project under the title: primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes.…”
