“…For the poor suture technique used for microsurgical anastomosis, we modified an inverting suture technique previously described by other groups, that applied an inverting suture over half the circumference of the common iliac artery. 3,8,10,12 That previously described technique provides a continuous thrombogenic stimulus, because intravascular blood flow is exposed to adventitia containing thrombogenic collagen, and it has been shown to cause microembolization of distal tissues at the microcirculatory level. 8,10 Our present study is a first setting for evaluating the long-term effect of poor suture technique, as a modification of the previously described technique, at the level of the main supply artery by monitoring peripheral tissue perfusion distal to the anastomotic site.…”
