Abstract: As insulated wires have come into wide use as distribution lines, wire breakage by arc fusion due to lightning flashovers has become a serious problem in Japan. In order to prevent that, the authors have developed a current limiting arcing hom, which has a nonlinear resistor element of zinc oxide.
