Development of an Application on Environmental Certification: Describing the experience

Abstract

The study aims to describe the experience in developing a mobile application on environmental certification. An experience report was carried out in the development of a Mobile Application (APP) developed under the Graduate Program in Technology and Environmental Management of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará -IFCE, Fortaleza-CE, in the period from January/2020 to April 2021, with emphasis on the environmental certification of the Green Municipality Seal Program (PSMV) of the State of Ceará, more specifically on the environmental indicators of its 13th Edition. The application pilot uses standardized languages to feed the environmental certification information system database, in addition to a pleasant and easy layout. The experience was successful in developing the initial prototype of an application that could contribute to a better assessment of municipal environmental management indicators, and could encourage other cities, states, and even other countries to use digital tools (APP) for data collection, as well as the environmental indicators of environmental certification to improve environmental quality.
