“…Potassium cryolite materials exhibit high light output (>20000 photons/MeV), good energy resolution ( E = 662 KeV, < 5%), and excellent n/ discrimination capability [361]. However, they have some limitations in the detection of fast neutrons [362]. A. Gueorguiev and others have developed a new technology that combines inorganic scintillator (CLYC) with an organic scintillator matrix (methyl methacrylate, PMMA) to achieve simultaneous detection of fast neutrons, thermal neutrons, and -rays.…”

“…The 6 Li:ZnS(Ag) screen is a practical choice for us to make a large area detector in terms of availability and the cost. The screens are purchased from SCINTACOR, UK that have mass ratios of ZnS to 6 LiF as 2 to 1. Although a large afterglow of the 6 Li:ZnS(Ag) limits the count rate capability less than about 5000 cps, it is acceptable for most diffraction measurements in the BL19 [6].…”

“…In this experiment we tried to find out the practical solution from the commercial products. The available 6 Li:ZnS(Ag) screens type ND from the SINTACOR, UK have the thicknesses of 0.3 and 0.5 mm with a 6 Li content of 1.5 × 10 21 1/cm 3 . Figure 2(b) shows a relative neutron count to a reference detector.…”

“…The event position is determined by using a direct encoding technique with multi-anode PMT's. Newly developed sintered ceramic scintillator material, ZnS/ 10 B 2 O 3 , improved detecting efficiency, gamma sensitivity and afterglow at the same time [18] We are now implemented those detectors in iBIX (1.2 mm resolution) [19], SENJU (4 mm resolution) [20] and SHARAKU (4 mm resolution) [21] as shown in Fig. 8.…”
