Development of a validated RP-HPLC/DAD method for the quantitative determination of methyl jasmonate in an insect repellent semi-solid formulation

Abstract: A simple and efficient reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method has been developed for the first time for the estimation of a mosquito repellent, methyl jasmonate in a cream formulation, and validated as per the International Conference on Harmonization guidelines. Acetonitrile and water (75:25 v/v) were used as the mobile phase and the flow-rate of the mobile phase was kept constant at 1.0 mL/min. The analysis was performed isocratically on a C 18 analytic… Show more

“…The accuracy of the method of the analysis is expressed in percentage and indicates the proximity between the measured value and the actual value of the analyte [51,52]. Accuracy should be assessed using a certified reference plant material or a matrix without the target analyte [53,54].…”

“…S1, ESI). 46 The loading capacity, i.e., adsorbed MeJ (mg) per mg of nanoMeJ (% wt), was calculated by quantifying the MeJ delivered from a known amount of nanoMeJ after 3 days of delivery (when the 100 % of release was achieved, Fig. 4).…”

“…The linearity of a method essentially expresses how closely a linear regression of response versus analyte concentration follows a straight line [36]. Accordingly, the calibration curve was illustrated based on the respective area of 5 melittin concentrations.…”
