Determination of individual teleroentgenographic characteristics of the lower medial incisors position in Ukrainian young men and young women with orthognathic bite

Abstract: Ethnic, sexual and age features of the incisors positions point to the need for the development of techniques that allow to determine their individual characteristics, since commonly accepted standards recommended for optimal positioning of incisors can only be used as indicative. The purpose of the study – by studying teleroentgenographic indices and conducting direct stepwise regression analysis in young men and young women of Ukraine with orthognathic bite, to develop and analyze the mathematical models of … Show more

“…In the previous study [12], in the simulation of individual teleroentgenographic characteristics of position of the lower central incisors in young women with orthognathic bite of 7 possible regression models was constructed with 5 with a determination coefficient from 0.694 to 0.849, the most frequent (from 7.7 to 11.5%) included were the angle ANB, facial vertical index, lower face height ANS_ME, NBA_PTGN face angle and distance S_E. In young women, all 7 possible models with a determination coefficient from 0.595 to 0.794 (which is also lower than in the models of the position of the upper central incisors) were constructed, which most often (from 5.6 to 16.7%) included the angle N_POG, the Wits indicator, the inclinational angle I, and the H angle, the angle of the MM and the angle of NBa-PtGn (by 5.6%)…”

“…It is about creating models that will help doctors create the perfect smile that is harmonious with the particular face of the patient. Works on this topic are already being carried out both in Ukraine and beyond its boundaries [2][3][4][5][6][7], and are based on the study of dependence as certain anthropometric indicators with other indicators, which at first glance may have nothing in common [8], and in some way related structures [9][10][11][12][13]. One such promising area is the study of odontometric and cephalometric indicators and their relationship with the shape of the dental arch in individuals of different sex, age and with different types of faces.…”
