Designing Integrated Fuzzy Guidance Law for Aerodynamic Homing Missiles Using Genetic Algorithms

Abstract: The Fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is well-known for robustness to parameter variations and ability to reject noise. However, its design requires definition of many parameters. This work proposes a systematic and simple procedure to develop an integrated fuzzy-based guidance law which consists of three FLC. Each is activated in a region of the interception. Another fuzzy-based switching system is introduced to allow smooth transition between these controllers. The parameters of all the fuzzy controllers, which i… Show more

“…During the missile midcourse guidance phase, 1) which lasts from the end of the launch phase 2) to the beginning of the terminal phase, 3,4) the target can be locked-on to by the missile's on-board sensor. The midcourse task is to deliver the missile to some place near the target with some predetermined conditions, such as suitable final velocity or appropriate attitude.…”

“…The simulation results of the proposed model were given the same results provided by the human experts. Omar [24] proposed a systematic and simple procedure to develop an integrated fuzzy-based guidance law which consisted of three fuzzy logic controller (FLC). The parameters of all the fuzzy controllers, which included the distribution of the membership functions and the rules, were obtained simply by observing the function of each controller.…”
