Designing host-associated microbiomes using the consumer/resource model

Abstract: Correlated variation between host phenotypes and microbiomes suggest that emergent global variables may simultaneously describe the microbial ecosystem and the host. Mechanistic models cannot yet identify these descriptors because of their inherent complexity.
