“…44Y48 Eight of 30 men working on a boat developed dermatitis which was ascribed to lemongrass oil which had been spilled; 4 were patch tested with pine wood contaminated with the lemongrass oil (as there were no samples of the oil itself) and all reacted, with negative reactions to pinewood without the oil. 49 One positive patch test reaction to lemongrass oil was seen in a patient who had allergic contact cheilitis from citral in a lip balm. 50 Two cases of contact allergy to lemongrass oil present in topical pharmaceutical preparations have been reported.…”
