In this study, high school students' interest in music and their creativity were analyzed relationally. For this purpose, high school students' interest in music and their creativity were compared in terms of school type, gender and grade level variables. Comparative relational survey model was used as a method in this study. In this study, which was carried out on 9th and 11th grade students in public and private schools in three different cities in Turkey, the scales were applied to a total of 315 students. 'Personal Information Form', 'Affinity for Music Scale', and 'Kaufman Creativity Scales' were used to collect research data. In the analysis of the obtained data, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient, t test and analysis of variance techniques were used. According to the research findings, the interest and creativity of the participants towards music was found to be moderate. Finally, significant and positive relationships were found between high school students' interest in music and their creativity.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the Type I error and statistical power ratios of Differential Item Functioning (DIF) techniques based on different theories under different conditions. For this purpose, a simulation study was conducted by using Mantel-Haenszel (MH), Logistic Regression (LR), Lord’s χ2, and Raju’s Areas Measures techniques. In the simulation-based research model, the two-parameter item response model, group’s ability distribution, and DIF type were the fixed conditions while sample size (1800, 3000), rates of sample size (0.50, 1), test length (20, 80) and DIF- containing item rate (0, 0.05, 0.10) were manipulated conditions. The total number of conditions is 24 (2x2x2x3), and statistical analysis was performed in the R software. The current study found that the Type I error rates in all conditions were higher than the nominal error level. It was also demonstrated that MH had the highest error rate while Raju’s Areas Measures had the lowest error rate. Also, MH produced the highest statistical power rates. The analysis of the findings of Type 1 error and statistical power rates illustrated that techniques based on both of the theories performed better in the 1800 sample size. Furthermore, the increase in the sample size affected techniques based on CTT rather than IRT. Also, the findings demonstrated that the techniques’ Type 1 error rates were lower while their statistical power rates were higher under conditions where the test length was 80, and the sample sizes were not equal.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of missing data imputation methods, namely regression imputation (RI), multiple imputation (MI) and k-nearest neighbor (kNN) on differential item functioning (DIF). In this regard, the datasets used in the research were created by deleting some of the data via the missing completely at random mechanism from the complete datasets obtained from 600 students in Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the USA, New Zealand and Australia, who answered booklets 14 and 15 from the PISA 2018 science literacy test. Data imputation was applied to the datasets through missing data using RI, MI and kNN methods and DIF analysis was performed on all datasets in terms of language and gender variables via Lord’s χ2 method, Raju’s area measurement method and item response theory likelihood ratio method. DIF results from the complete datasets were taken as a reference and they were compared with the results from other datasets. As a result of the research, values close to 10% of accurate imputation were achieved in the RI method depending on language and gen-der variables. In MI and kNN methods, results closest to the complete datasets were obtained at a rate of 5% depending on the language variable. In the MI method, inaccurate results were obtained in all proportions in terms of the gender variable. For the gender variable, the kNN method gave accurate results at rates of 5% and 10%.
