Dark matter searches in the mono-Zchannel at high energye+ecolliders

Abstract: We explore the mono-Z signature for dark matter searches at future high energy e + e − colliders. In the context of effective field theory, we consider two kinds of contact operators describing dark matter interactions with electroweak gauge bosons and with electron/positron, respectively. For five benchmark models, we propose kinematic cuts to distinguish signals from backgrounds for both charged leptonic and hadronic decay modes of the Z boson. We also present the experimental sensitivity to cutoff scales of… Show more

“…An especially promising tool to probe the DM models discussed in this paper are future e + e − colliders [49]. In particular, they allow for the copious production of DM states associated with a Z boson, what is referred to as Higgsstrahlung process or mono-Z emision [31,[50][51][52][53][54][55] (see the diagram in Fig. 1).…”

“…We compare our results for the unpolarized beams at √ s = 500 GeV and L = 500 fb −1 which are displayed in Figure 7 with Figures 4d and 4e of reference [56] corresponding to pseudo-scalar and axial-vector couplings respectively. We find that our analysis can provide a better kinematic reach ( m χ = 20 GeV ) for the pseudo-scalar coupling.…”

Recently, this topic has been addressed for some specific models [56][57][58][59][60]. LEP has also searched for exotic Z decays into light Higgs [61,62], two light Higgs in MSSM [63], photon and missing energy [64][65][66] and three photons [67].…”
