“…Cystic benign tumors have been initially considered less responsive to SRS. Nevertheless, this myth has been recently invalidated [4]. In case of tumor progression, further SRS versus microsurgical resection, depending on the volume, remain viable options.…”

“…Such discrepancies might be due to various reasons. First, definitions of successful tumor control differed, with some studies using “tumor control rate”, where a tumor is considered “controlled” if the patient requires no further surgical or radiosurgical intervention after initial SRS, regardless of any increase in tumor size [30,31], while others used PFR [17,20,23,29]. The present study used PFR, as a more sensitive measure for assessing tumor response to SRS.…”

“…GKSRS has been utilized in the treatment of VS for over half a century, and in the modern era provides high levels of long-term local control with improving hearing and CN preservation 10 . Local control continues to be defined as the need for a second intervention as opposed to radiologic changes, 6,15 with rates of PFS ranging between 92-100%. 13 Overall local control hovers around 95% 15 on systematic review with mean follow-ups of approximately 8 years in tumors <2cm 11 .…”

“…Maximum dose was defined as dose to <0.01cc of a given structure. Tumor volume was also calculated post-hoc utilizing an ellipsoid formula [(π/6)XD AP XD TRV XD CC ] in cubic millimeters (mm 3 ) as previously described 6 . Tumor measurements were performed prior to determining tumor outcome or toxicity per patient to avoid measurement bias.…”
