“…With the obesity phenotype in particular, breed appears to play an important role, although there is also a strong influence of management, particularly of diet and exercise. A number of different breeds are considered more susceptible to obesity and/or EL, including various pony breeds, Morgan Horses, Tennessee Walking Horses, American Saddlebreds, Arabians, Paso Finos, Icelandics and Andalusians .
