“…That was the case in Brazil in the 1960s, when USAID and especially the Ford Foundation begun to fund the first graduate economics programs in the country, which eventually led to the creation of Anpec (Associac ¸ ão Nacional dos Centros de Pós-Graduac ¸ ão em Economia, the National Association of Graduate Centers in Economics) in 1973.
