Cosmological parameter forecasts by a joint 2D tomographic approach to CMB and galaxy clustering

Abstract: The cross-correlation between the cosmic microwave background (CMB) fields and matter tracers carries important cosmological information. In this paper, we forecast by a signal-to-noise ratio analysis the information contained in the cross-correlation of the CMB anisotropy fields with source counts for future cosmological observations and its impact on cosmological parameters uncertainties, using a joint tomographic analysis. We include temperature, polarization, and lensing for the CMB fields and galaxy numbe… Show more

“…Weak lensing of the CMB is a tracer of the matter distribution integrated along the line of sight [87], and is one of the central science cases for upcoming CMB surveys [16,53,54,88]. Throughout we work under both the Born and Limber approximations so that C XY may be expressed as a single integral:…”

“…To this end, we include measurements of the CMB lensing-galaxy angular cross-power spectrum C κg : this dataset is sensitive to b lin σ 2 8 , while P gg (k) is sensitive to b 2 lin σ 2 8 : therefore, the base +C κg combination can help disentangle b lin and σ 8 . Moreover, C κg suffers from a different set of observational systematics compared to P gg (k), as discussed for instance in [328,[344][345][346][347].…”
