Segundo a literatura, nódulos reumatóides são geralmente bilaterais, localizados no tecido conectivo episcleral ou na esclera superficial, e se desenvolvem durante os estágios ativos da doença articular (4)(5)(6) . Nódulos pseudo-reumatóides são granulomas necrobióti-cos essencialmente idênticos em sua aparência clínica e microscópica aos nódulos reumatóides.…”

Os casos de nódulos reumatóides episclerais comprovados pelo exame histopatológico apresentam curso benigno e eventual resolução (4)(5)(6) .
