Abstract:I t is shown that cyclic oxides can be anionically polymerized if the lowest vacant molecular orbital (LVMO) of a C, atom contains a region which can effectively overlap by the electronic cloud of the anionic active centre. This means that LVMO must be a-symmetrical and a t least one of the C, atoms must contain an approximately spl-hybridized atomic orbital forming a sufficiently great part of LVMO.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
