“…Quaternary ammonium and imidazole cation-containing AEMs would be better candidates for harsh solvent environments. Quaternary ammonium cation-containing monomer (3-acrylamidopropyl) trimethylammonium chloride (APTA) has been used in many polymers and membranes.
