Abstract: The main contribution of this paper is the investigation of different model reference adaptation schemes for improving the performance of fuzzy logic control. Adaptive fuzzy control strategies are based on: i) fuzzy control with fuzzy internal model; ii) fuzzy control with fuzzy compensation; and iii) proportional and integral control with fuzzy adaptation. Numerical and experimental results are shown in order to assess the performance of each adaptive fuzzy control algorithm in nonlinear processes.

“…The performance of the control system handles the duty cycle of the pulse width modulation (PWM), which controls the voltage applied to the body of the DCEM. CALLAI et al (2007) designed an adaptive fuzzy control system from a fuzzy logic to act in a DCEM in a horizontal positioner. Several studies point to the use of fuzzy logic in order to mitigate effects of nonlinearities, and the use of DCEM as elements of performance due to its ease control.…”
