Abstract: Pathologic heart conditions, particularly heart failure (HF) and ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury, are characterized by sustained elevation of plasma and interstitial catecholamine levels, as well as by the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS).
