ÖZ. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Ankara'nın Polatlı ilçesinde bulunan liselerde, gençler arasında yaşanan anlaşmazlıkların değişen dünya değerleri çerçevesinde belirlenerek, yenilikçi ve barışçıl uygulamalarla yönetilmesini ve dönüştürülmesini hedefleyen "Polatlı Müzakereci Arabulucu Lider Öğrenci Yetişiyor" projesinin etkililiğini incelemektir. Proje süresince, Polatlı'da bulunan 10 liseden 394'ü kız 435'i erkek, toplam 829 öğrenciye "Anlaşmazlık Çözümü, Müzakere ve Akran Arabuluculuk Eğitim Programı" uygulanmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılan çalışmada Süreç Değerlendirme Görüşme Soruları, AkranArabuluculuk Formu, Program Değerlendirme Anketi olmak üzere toplam üç veri toplama aracı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, arabuluculuk eğitiminin, öğrencilerin sorun çözme becerilerine, arkadaşlık ilişkilerine, sosyalleşmelerine ve özgüvenlerine olumlu katkılar sağladığını, okulda disiplin olaylarında azalmaya neden olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca arabuluculuk toplantılarında anlaşmazlığın uzlaşma ve anlaşma ile sonuçlanma oranı %96,5 olarak tespit edilmiştir. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of "Polatlı Negotiator Mediator Leader Students" project which aimed to identify student conflicts among high school students in Polatlı, Ankara, based on changing world values and help them manage and transform their conflicts using innovative and peaceful procedures. During the project, a total of 829 students (394 female and 435 male) from 10 high schools in Polatlı were presented "Conflict Resolution, Peer Mediation and Negotiation Training Program". The study utilized qualitative research methods and Process Evaluation Interview Questions, Peermediation Forms, and Program Evaluation Questionnaire were used for data collection. Research findings showed that mediation training had positive contributions to students' problem-solving skills, their relationships, their socialization and self-confidence and also led to a decrease in disciplinary incidents at schools. Furthermore, it was also found that 96.5% of the mediation meetings resulted in settlement and agreements. Keywords: Peer Mediation, conflict, conflict resolution SUMMARY Purpose and significance: In general, attempts to prevent and preclude interpersonal violence in school and in the society traditionally focused on security-based, punitive, stopping and deterring the problem behavior approaches. In contrast, "Polatli Negotiator, Mediator-Leader Students Project" employs an asymmetrical approach which posits that every day "interpersonal conflicts and disputes" are not problem behaviors that need to be prevented, reduced or eliminated, rather they are opportunities for the young individuals to demonstrate desired behaviors and develop problem solving skills and transform their conflicts.
