Comunicação ambiental em meios de hospedagem / Environmental communication in lodging facilities

Abstract

A comunicação ambiental é um instrumento de gestão para as organizações. Para analisar como a comunicação ambiental é internalizada em meios de hospedagem, foi realizada uma pesquisa de caráter exploratório/descritivo. O questionário foi o instrumento de coleta de dados aplicado aos hóspedes de meios de hospedagem de Caxias do Sul e de Canela (municípios do Rio Grande do Sul); aos participantes de um evento acadêmico e aos professores de programas de pós-graduação. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstraram que a comunicação ambiental ainda é escassa nos meios de hospedagem (24,24% das indicações). Os meios de comunicação mais utilizados, de acordo com os participantes desses grupos, foram display ou placa (17,71%); informativo (12,15%) e folder ou manual (11,46%). Conclui-se que as ações sustentáveis precisam ser socializadas pelos meios de hospedagem, sendo necessário avaliar continuamente como ocorre a comunicação ambiental nesses empreendimentos.

Added to this is the variable of seasonality, which exponentially increases the number of tourists during peak seasons, consequently raising energy and water consumption, solid waste generation, and liquid effluents, leading to direct and indirect consequences for the environment.…”

“…In this perspective, the success of these initiatives requires an investment in environmental awareness among both the staff and users of these lodging facilities. As supported by [15], environmental communication within lodging facilities in Caxias do Sul and Canela, Rio Grande do Sul, is limited, with scarce implementation in these establishments (24.24% of indications).…”
