Composition of the Essential Oil of Cistus ladaniferus L. Cultivated in Corsica (France)

Abstract: The essential oil of Cistus ladaniferus L., obtained from plants of Spanish origin grown in Corsica, was investigated by 13 C-NMR spectroscopy (identi®cation of components) and GC (quanti®cation). First, a bulk sample was analysed and 45 constituents were identi®ed. The main components were a-pinene (39%), viridi¯orol (11.8%), ledol (3.3%) and bornyl acetate (3.1%). Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC).
