A steady-state argon plasma, produced by a helicon antenna in a 0.6m long, 15-cm dia. chamber in a Helmholtz magnetic-field geometry, flows through a co-axial magnetic nozzle coil and a I-cm aperture [I]. The ion gyroradius is -0.4 cm. After passing through the aperture, the plasma enters a Pyrex expansion region (ER). In this experiment, the a p e m e plate was placed at three different positions: in the main chamber, in the magnetic nozzle region, and in the ER. Spatially resolved Laser-induced fluorescence…
scite is a Brooklyn-based startup that helps researchers better discover and evaluate scientific articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by researchers from dozens of countries and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
