The paper presents the results of the distribution of phosphorus bioavailability (total, organic, and inorganic phosphorus) in surface sediment and river water from the Orontes (Asi) River (Samandag, Antakya,Turkey) in March 2008. Speciation of inorganic phosphorus was carried out using a method on sequential extractions, with each releasing four forms of inorganic phosphorus-loosely sorbed phosphorus, phosphorus bound to aluminum (P-Al), phosphorus bound to iron (P-Fe), and phosphorus bound to calcium (P-Ca). Total phosphorus concentrations are, on average, 3.724 mg/L and 312.30 mg/kg dry weight in the river water and surface sediment, respectively. The interstitial water of the surface sediment contains less than 1% of the surface sediment's total phosphorus pool. The most abundant form of inorganic phosphorus is P-Ca. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of copper and silver in the plants on the mining area and the ingredients of essential oils. Plants collected from the same family, but they were collected randomly from various regions. The concentration of heavy metal in plant samples collected from Veshnave, Qom, Iran have been determined by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS). The chemical composition of essential oil isolated by hydrodistillation from Tanacetum polycephalum and was determined using Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Results obtained from unidirectional variance analysis suggest that there is a meaningful statistical difference between various regions.

In this study, two methods of wet digestion and dry-ashing digestion are performed and compared statistically for the determination of iron (Fe) and copper (Cu) species in the orange peel, flesh and leaves by means of flame atomic absorption spectroscopy. In wet digestion, the effects of two reagents and their mixtures were studied. In dry digestion, various factors affecting the digestion were studied and optimal condition stablished. Based on the average concentration (mg L -1 ), standard deviation (n = 5) and relative standard deviation (RSD)%, the best conditions of dry digestion and wet digestion to extract Fe and Cu were chosen. Finally, some 12 measurements were performed based on the optimum conditions of dry and wet digestions and the best method was selected with regard to the obtained results. In orange tree leaves because t exp (0.016) is smaller than t theorical (2.18) that it shows that there is not any difference between the two methods for analysis of Fe. However, the determination of Cu in orange tree leaves was A c c e p t e d M a n u s c r i p t 2 practical with wet digestion in that t exp (57.14) ˃ t theorical (2.18) shows there is a difference between the two methods and wet digestion is more suitable than dry-ashing one due to obtaining less RSD%. In flesh orange, it reveals that for both the t exp ˃ t theorical that shows there is a difference between the two methods and wet digestion is more suitable than dry-ashing one. Furthermore, in both Fe and Cu species, the t exp ˃ t theorical that it indicates the two digestion methods are different and wet digestion was selected as a suitable method because of obtaining smaller values of RSD%. Finally, after comparison the results, the wet digestion vessel for Fe and Cu extraction in the samples was suggested. The developed digestion methods, validated with certified reference materials.
